SUSTAINABLE HIGHLIGHTS:
- Restored habitat by providing native plants for more than 50% of site
- 84.71% of construction waste was diverted from landfill or incineration
- Vegetated green roof uses recycled rainwater for irrigation, cleans city air, creates a natural ecosystem, and provides a green space.
- Multi-level lighting control system reduce energy use in off-peak periods
- Green education program established to share green experience with visitors
SUMMARY:
TSMC chose the LEED building rating system as a way to measure the environmental footprint of the TSMC F15P3 Office tower. Although this project has selected the LEED NC rating system - specific guidance for New Construction buildings - TSMC will use this knowledge to maintain green performance over the lifetime of the F15P3 Office tower.
Finally, the green office building also achieved an innovation point for the comprehensive green building education program including a project case study and signage promoting sustainable features. The ultimate purpose is to make employees and visitors more aware of simple changes that can greatly benefit the environment.
