SUMMARY:
The Steelcase Global Shared Services Center conveys to the public a sense of “belonging” at the space and serves as a model to the public that taking care of resources and people is a key value to Steelcase. A multi-lingual educational display highlights the project’s sustainable elements.
The building’s triangular geometry provides ample access to natural light and facilitates the efficient workflow of the tenant. The extensive use of exterior glazing brings daylight into the interior and visibility to the exterior environment. Workspaces and public spaces are oriented to maximize views to the exterior. Harnessing natural day lighting reduces the need for electrical lighting consumption.
Sustainable design helps Steelcase achieve its goal of enhancing employees’ quality of life, productivity, and produces an office that is energy efficient, healthy, flexible, functional and easy to maintain.
