The SL+A Taipei Office design concept provides a healthy, attractive facility that supports high quality design work and reflects SL+A Group’s environmental policy – to achieve excellence and business growth. The location, in an older existing building with low and wide concrete beams, presented challenges to the interior design and sustainable efforts. In place of traditional metal ductwork, a soft fabric duct system was chosen to allow flexibility amidst the existing beams. The HVAC system is connected to a specialized PURE air filtration system which provides cleaner, healthier air. The green features not only contribute to a more positive environmental impact, but also result in a healthier working environment for employees. Design features such as low-emitting construction materials include coating, adhesives and flooring materials with little or no VOC emissions. SL+A wittingly reused 50% of furniture seamlessly in the new space, while achieving a fresh new look.
